DLIMS KPK:

The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa set up the DLIMS KPK to handle the issuing and control of driver's licenses in the province. Through the DLIMS system, people can usually apply for a driver's license, renew their current licenses, and do other related things online. It is meant to speed up the process, cut down on paperwork that needs to be filled out by hand, and make the driving license control system work better overall.

There are many places in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa where you can update your driver's license. However, the process of obtaining a new driving license is only conducted at the central office in Peshawar. On additional to that, this helps them keep fake IDs under control. The driving license office in Peshawar provides four different types of services.
These are what they are:

  • Learner’s Permit
  • Permanent License
  • License Renewal
  • Duplicate License

Learner’s Permit

  • To get a permanent driver's license, a person must first get a learner's permit and hold it for the required amount of time before applying for a permanent license.
  • If you’re applying for the learner’s permit, you need the following documents
  • A copy of applicant’s CNIC 
  • Signed medical form by an authorized practitioner 
  • Fee deposit slip
  • Here’s the procedure for obtaining a learner’s permit: 
  • The person who wants to get a license needs to go to the license centre with the above papers.
  • The person applying must fill out a form with information like their name, date of birth, father's name, current address, CNIC number, type of license, etc.
  • Note: The motor car, motorbike, LTV, and HTV licenses are some of the most common types.
  • The person applying will have to go through a medical test to find out their basic height, weight, blood group, and eyesight.
  • The person applying for a driver's license will have to get a picture taken right then and there.
  • The candidate needs to make sure that all the information given to the official is correct.
  • The learning license will then be printed once the verification process is complete

Permanent Licence

  • After getting your learner's permit, you have to wait at least 42 days before you can apply for a regular permit. Once the 42 days are up, you will have to pass a test in order to get a permanent card. When you apply for a new pass, you will need the following items:
  • Copy of valid CNIC
  • Original learner’s permit
  • Medical form with their application
  • Deposit slip
  • Signed test page [confirming that the applicant has cleared all formalities
  • The procedure for obtaining a permanent permit in KPK is mentioned below:
  • The person who wants to get a license must go to the license office and sign up for a driving test.
  • In the second step, the person applying for a license must pass a medical test and fill out the necessary forms.
  • The person applying will then be given a written page with the test date, time, and place.
  • After the test, the applicant will have to go through a process at the license office to verify their biometrics and signature.
  • The person who applied will get a ticket with the date that the driver's license can be picked up.
