Procedure for Driving License
Getting a driving license in Punjab follows a systematic process to ensure road safety, begin by applying for a learner's permit at your local Traffic Police Office, Move on to the training part and practice for the required number of hours while being watched by a licensed driver.
Set up and pass a practical driving test to show that you can drive properly and follow the rules of the road. Get a medical document that says you are physically fit to drive. Along with your learner's pass, you must submit the required documents, such as proof of who you are and where you live.
Make sure you correctly fill out the application form and pay the fees for the learner's pass, training and license. The Punjab Traffic Police will give you your license once you've completed these steps. This will give you the legal right to drive safely on Punjab's roads. Requirements for Driving License
In order to get learner permit, regular, renewal, duplicate and international license, following things are required.
Learner Permit
Below mentioned documents are required to apply to get a learner's permit:
- Original CNIC along with copy of CNIC
- Ticket of Rs. 60 for each category (issued by General Post Office and Learners Permit Office)
- Medical certificate (issued by authorized medical practitioner)

Regular Driving License
Required Documents::
Below mentioned documents required for regular driving license:
- Copy of CNIC
- 3 Passport size photographs
- Medical certificate (issued by authorized medical practitioner)
- Medical Fitness Certificate (only for the candidates of the age of 50 years or above)
- Application form (A)
- Original learner permits (at least 42 days within validity period)
- Paste relevant ticket on the document
- Rs. 180 on STR form have to be deposited in the branch after passing the test
International Driving License
Below mentioned Documents required for International Driving License:
- Attested Copy of CNIC
- Attested Copy of Valid Driving License (issued by the licensing authority)
- 2 attested passport size photographs (one each from front and back)
- Attested Copy of Passport (valid for at least 6 months with visa affixed of country to be visited)
- Ticket of Rs.22 for court fee
- Ticket of Rs.60
- Rs. 180 on STR form has to be deposited in the branch after passing the test.
- Note: International Driving Licenses are issued on the day of receiving the application. Applicant will bring original CNIC, driving license and passport.
Renewal of License
Below mentioned documents required for the renewal of license
- Copy of CNIC
- 2 Passport size photographs
- Medical certificate (issued by authorized medical practitioner)
- Medical Fitness Certificate (only for the candidates of the age of 50 years or above)
- Application form
- Original Driving License
- Relevant tickets
Rs. 180 on STR form has to be deposited in the branch after passing the test.
Duplicate License
Below mentioned documents required for duplicate license:
- Copy of CNIC
- 2 Passport size photographs
- Medical certificate (issued by authorized medical practitioner)
- Medical Fitness Certificate (only for the candidates of the age of 50 years or above)
- Application form
- Report from computer section for Computerized License
- Diary report of misplaced license from relevant Police Station and must be submitted within 15 days from reported date
- Ticket of Rs.150/-
Rs. 180/- on STR form have to be deposited in the branch after passing the test.
Endorsement of License
Below mentioned documents required for the endorsement of license:
- Endorsement Form (Form-D)
- Copy of CNIC
- 2 Passport size photographs
- Medical certificate (issued by authorized medical practitioner)
- Medical Fitness Certificate (only for the candidates of the age of 50 years or above)
- Original learner permit (at least 42 days within validity period)
- Previous license
- Relevant ticket(s)
Rs. 180/- on STR form have to be deposited in the branch after passing the test.
