In Sindh, a driving license is an official document and permit that allows the holder to drive various vehicles such as bikes, cars, trucks on motorways, highways, and public roads. Individuals above the age of 18 can apply for a driving license in Sindh by visiting any of the province's licensing centers. To apply for a driving license in Sindh, you can also use the Driving License Sindh (DLS) App.

The Sindh Police administers the Driving License Department, which grants licenses and permits to those who pass the authority's testing standards based on driving ethics, road awareness, and traffic rules. Driving License Sindh Pakistan, or DLS, is the department in charge of license verification. Anyone can schedule a driving test appointment through their online services. Not only that, but it has completed additional tasks. The software was launched in 2016 and is now available to citizens. The DLS app does not only allow you to apply for a license; it also includes features such as theoretical driving tests and driving license verification Sindh. Furthermore, before going to a centre for the practical driving test, pay the driving license cost and check for the nearest Sindh driving license centre. The DLS app couldn't handle the whole process of applying for a license. Anyone in Sindh who wants to get a driver's license has to go to the license centre and finish the rest of the steps. You can make a booking through the app before you go to the centre. When you get to the licensing centre and confirm your booking at the front desk, you will be asked to fill out a registration form and have your picture taken right then. After that, a doctor will look at your eyes. After that, pay the fee at the National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) desk. This is not the last step. At the end, your written license will be given to you. There are three kinds of licences, and the steps will depend on which one you have

The three types of driving license in Sindh are

  • Learner’s driving license
  • Permanent driving license
  • International driving permit/license
  • Each one’s specifics are listed below

  • You can apply for this type of license if you are a citizen of Sindh and are at least the minimum age. The license is valid for one year and then expires. Everyone with a learner's pass has 45 days to take tests at the driving centre before they can get their non-commercial license. Also, after 60 days, trainees can take a test for a commercial driver's license. Getting this license is a pretty simple process. The whole thing is:
  • After making an online booking, you have to go to the license office to do more work.
  • At the front desk of the license centre, you'll be given a ticket and a registration form to fill out. Next, the doctor will check your health (as required).
  • Once you finish this process, you will need to go to the National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) to pay the fee.
  • Lastly, the officers will check all of your papers and then print out a learner's license that is good for a year.
  • The fees for new learner's licenses and learner renewals differ. The fee also varies according to the type of vehicle, as different vehicles have varying fees.

Sindh Pakistan's permanent driving license is the second category of driving license. This license application process differs from the previous one in a few areas. Following that, these licenses are good for 3 to 5 years. The length of time depends on the amount of money you put when you apply. The steps for obtaining this type of license are as follows:

  • You can save time by taking online appointments with the DLS Android app
  • When you get to the license center on the given date and time, the person in charge will give you a token. After that, the token will be used in the next step.
  • When it's your turn, you have to give the person at the registration desk all the details they need.
  • The next step is to go to the "snap counter" and give your picture for the license.
  • After that, you will have a medical check like you did for your learner's permit. After it's been cleared.
  • Then you will be given a written/sign test to see how much you know about driving. There are 25 questions on the test, and you must get 18 of them right. They ask about things like road lines, traffic signs, and road safety.
  • After you take the written test, you will have a road test where your driving skills will be judged. There are questions on the test about the simple rules of the road.
  • After you pass all the tests, your application needs to be approved by the DSP.
  • Lastly, your papers will be checked, and then your legal and official license will be ready to print. It will be given to you as soon as it is issued by the government.
  • Prices for both the 3-year and 5-year permanent driving licenses vary according to the kind of vehicle.
